The Roseland Peninsula in winter……

It is not only in summer that the Roseland Peninsula is a great place to visit!

The weekend after Christmas was cold and very windy but crystal clear skies.  Perfect for walking the dog along the cliffs!  A superb walk near Portscatho takes in Froe Creek and the Percuil River before a short climb to the little hamlet of Borhotha and a walk along the South West Coast Path from Porthbeor Beach to Towan Beach.

The views along the Percuil River towards St Mawes at this time of year are superb with great light and no boats on the river.

Porthbeor & Towan Beaches were just spectacular with 30 knot easterly winds producing a big swell. Even a few of the local surfers were tempted by Porthbeor…..

It was the Roseland Peninsula at its wildest and a beauty that many who only visit in the summer months never see……..
